How do I do the assignments?
|
|
All your work is done online. Well, all the typing you do is online - most of the work goes on inside your head.
You login to the site, click on the course and then the assignment you are working on. Read the instructions and then think about them !!
When you are ready to type up your assignment, click on the 'edit assignment' button underneath the assignment instructions and a WYSIWYG editor opens up. Type away to your hearts content.

When you have finished click the submit button and your assignment will be saved.
The system sends an email to your tutor telling them that you have completed an assignment and I will come into the site and grade your assignment. When your tutor grades your work, comments appear below your assignment. If there are no comments don't worry about it as it means that none were necessary.
One tarot card at a time
Please only work on the assignments for one tarot card at a time and wait for the assignments for that card to be graded before moving onto the next tarot card.
Take your time
Take care not to rush through the assignments. The more time you spend with each individual tarot card, the more you will absorb the information and understand the interpretations for each card.
Spelling and grammar
Part of the course involves doing email readings for clients. These clients are real people who will expect their readings to presented in a professional manner.
If you do become a professional reader you will probably do email readings for paying clients. Those clients will expect you to present yourself in a professional manner and the emails you send out should not be full of misspelled words and bad grammar. Hence the reason I try to get my students into the habit of using a spell checker before they submit their assignments. If you get into the habit from the start you are never going to send out a reading that is less than professionally presented.
If someone really does have problems with spelling I will always make every effort to help them. Not everyone has had a first class education and they shouldn't let that stop them from reading or trying to improve their spelling.
We have students from all over the world whose first language is not English - I've seen some pretty hilarious translations over the years - so obviously they also need help with their spelling and grammar.
Minimum word count
For each assignment there is a minimum word count of 100. This isn't as much as it might seem - for example the two paragraphs above contain 76 words.
There is also a maximum word count of 200 for each assignment. You must be able to get your point across without repeating yourself or being too verbose.
Assignment grades
Your tutor grades all submitted assignments once a day. Tarot course assignments submitted on Saturday and Sunday will be graded on Monday.
You will receive an automatic email from the system to inform you when your assignments have been graded.
Your tutor will also leave any comments they think are necessary about your assignments. If there are no comments, don't worry - it just means your tutor didn't think any were necessary.
If you get a low grade, your tutor will arrange to have a chat with you to find out where your understanding of the card or assignment failed. Then you can go back and redo the assignment so that it can be re-graded.
Re-submitting assignments
If you didn't get the grade you expected you can edit your work and re-submit your assignments.
Your tutor will always indicate where you need to make changes to your assignments and give you as much help as is needed.
WARNING: Use your own wording
We understand that students use books and the internet to research the tarot cards. However, we must point out that when submitting your assignments you MUST use your own wording. Copying from another source is plagiarism and not only immoral but illegal.
Anyone found to be using another persons/authors/web sites wording when submitting their assignments will be thrown off the course as we cannot and will not be seen to be condoning plagiarism. This note has been put here due to the fact that a previous student did indeed submit assignments that were a direct copy of a famous tarotists book.
